Departing from the top of the Veysonnaz gondola, the route begins directly with a steep ascent on the Cheminée ski slope to the Crêtes de Thyon. At this point, the first 300 meters of positive altitude difference are already covered.
The following part takes place on the mountain ridges, in a magnificent aerial setting. You climb the various mountains of the range, each one a little higher: Mont-Carré 2468 m., Mont-Rouge 2490 m. easily recognizable by its red earth and cross, the proud Mont-Loéré 2578 m. also decorated with a cross, and finally the Col du Greppon Blanc 2671 m. It is possible and even advisable to climb to the top to enjoy the stunning views.
The course then begins its descent towards the Meine mountain pasture where the Hérens cows graze during the summer.
The return to Thyon is made via the Ancien Bisse de Chervé, gently downhill. First of all, the path runs along the charming little gouilles of the Meine, then passes in front of the restaurant des Chottes, an old stable that has been tastefully transformed. For this final part, the route is smooth and pleasant.
