Mountain Climbing, via Ferrata

Mountain climbing

In Veysonnaz, a climbing wall has been installed on the Veysonnaz cable car building. An initiation to climbing is being organized as part of the outdoor activities program proposed by Mountain Fun. This wall is also open to all other climbing amateurs outside the times used for Mountain Fun's program

The Valais offers mountain climbing sites in some of the most beautiful places with varied difficulty and all levels. Topographic guides of the Central Valais and other regions are sold in sports shops (ex  Follomi, Là-Haut) or in bookshops Payot, in Sion.

Via Ferrata

The Via Ferrata is an itinerary up a steep rock face, offering excitement and sensational views! The itinerary is equipped with metal elements (cables, ladders, beams and sometimes even cable slides, etc) destined to help the climbers’ progression with optimal security (cable anchorage).

Climbing on a Via Ferrata itinerary requires good physical fitness as well as appropriate equipment (harness, ropes, karabiners, rest harness, helmet, gloves, and sometimes a pulley).

Via Cordata Nendaz Mont-Fort

A NEW glacier and rock-climbing itinerary of 8km, for which a guide should accompany you. It is accessible from July to August. Strong sensations and high adreline guaranteed! This excursion includes passages on the Tortin and Mont fort glaciers as well as some easy rock climbing. With your guide, you will learn to familiarise yourself with the Alpine terrain, fauna and flora.

Warning: To complete this high altitude hike you should count 6 to 8 hours. The itinerary is not marked, and as it is located at high altitude, it is necessary to have good alpine knowledge and adequate orienteering experience if you wish to complete this itinerary without a qualified mountain guide.
