According to the Larousse, a 'crête' means a narrow part which constitutes, in particular, the summit of a mountain. The Crêtes de Thyon are not so narrow and vertiginous, straddling the Val des Dix and the Val de Nendaz. The view is no less breathtaking and there is plenty of sunshine. The Cabane des Crêtes is located on a natural headland on the edge of the Cheminée ski slope.
A pretty terrace is set out directly on the snow. The interior is charming, small and cosy. Service is at the bar, both inside and outside.
The Cabane des Crêtes offers light meals such as soups, crêpes, cheese fondues, etc... It sometimes organises original theme days with an oyster bar or other surprises. Local made tommes (cheese) are also on sale. An original range of teas, herbal teas and syrups are available, as well as a wine list featuring wines the region and all kinds of hot or cold drinks.
