Towns & villages
A charming village in the Val d'Hérens known for its contemporary concrete church surrounded by traditional wooden barns.
This village perched on the mountainside is known for its concrete church built at the end of the 1960s and beginning of the 1970s. This contemporary-looking building, by the Zurich architect and sculptor Walter Förderer, is surrounded by the traditional wooden barns, giving this village a charm that is a blend of authenticity and modernity. The view of the Dent d'Hérens, the Dent Blanche and the villages on the opposite slopes does not detract from the appeal of this place.
