This trail begins at the Plaine des Ecluses. Follow the small path that goes up next to the hotel towards the gondola departure station. Continue up the slope beneath the Tracouet gondola until you reach the Clèves car park. At this point turn right and follow the path leading to Tracouet.

When you reach Tracouet, take the path that runs along the right of the Lac Noir (lake). The ascent to the Dent de Nendaz is via a mountain path. When you reach the cross at 2'461m in altitude, take the time to admire the view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The trail then descends slightly along a steep ridge before climbing up to the Pointe de Balavaux to reach the Basso D'Alou pass.

At Basso D'Alou, take the direction of Siviez. The descent is on a steep path that goes down between the rocks before going into the forest. A little above Siviez, the path forks off to the left on to the 'Bisse de Saxon'.

The trail ends with a few kilometres on flat terrain along the 'Bisse de Saxon', with a few narrow passages along the rock face, then after 'La Bourlâ' cabin with a a final descent towards Haute Nendaz by following the signposts dedicated to the Nendaz Trail.
