This beautiful hike takes you from Thyon to the top of the Cleuson dam, famous for its turquoise water, and then back down into the Val de Nendaz to finally return to Veysonnaz. The hike has some vertiginous passages, but its difficulty lies mainly in its length.

The hike begins in Thyon 2000 at the arrival of the Veysonnaz gondola. You cross the Combire-Meina mountain pastures where you can probably spot cows grazing during the summer season. You can also enjoy the stunning view of Nendaz and the Rhone Valley.
After about an hour's walk you reach the Restaurant des Chottes, a beautifully renovated former cowshed. The walk continues to Combatseline. Enjoy a drink on the sunny terrace of the Combatseline restaurant before starting the last part of the walk.
The following part of the tour contains some difficult and vertiginous passages. But suddenly, as you come around a pine tree, you see the lake of Cleuson and its magnificent turquoise water. A steep path takes you down to the dam below.
Continue down through the upper part of Val de Nendaz to Planchouet, passing through Siviez, in the heart of the Four Vallées ski domain.
Finally, the Grand Bisse de Vex brings you back to Veysonnaz, probably quite tired, but happy, after 24 kilometres of walking in a sumptuous setting.
