Movement track Veysonnaz-Thyon
Ski touring
This pleasant itinerary created during the winter of 2018-2019 links the resorts of Veysonnaz and Thyon 2000. The route requires good physical fitness and some ski touring experience.
- Accessible by public transport
The start of the Movement track is located at the edge of the road leading to the Piste de l'Ours, about 400 metres from Veysonnaz Tourisme. The ascent is done in a peaceful setting off the slopes. You first wind your way past the chalets of the Veysonnaz mayens before heading into the majestic forêt de l'Ours.
The return downhill leg follows the Piste des Mayens in order to protect the forest and the wildlife living there.
Beware that there is often insufficient snow at the start due to the relatively low altitude, you have to carry your skis for the first part, up to the restaurant Ô Caboulis.
Movement tracks are only open during the operating hours of the lifts. They are not protected against dangers such as avalanches or grooming machines with winches once the facilities are closed.
