The hike begins along the Bisse Vex towards Planchouet, to the west of the gondola departure station. Cross this charming hamlet which reflects the typical Valais village spirit. The hike continues downhill to the village of Beuson where you cross the Printse river. The footpath takes you uphill to Basse-Nendaz. After the village, the route continues downhill to Aproz located on the valley floor, passing through the small hamlet of Coor.
In Aproz, you can reach Les Iles by following the main road and then along the banks of the Rhone. The village of Aproz is unique in that it straddles the municipalities of Nendaz and Sion. It is famous for its Pra Bardy arena, which hosts the cantonal cow fighting final every year.
In the summer, Les Iles and banks of the Rhone are particularly popular with families and cyclists. Many locals come to cool off on hot summer days with family and friends. There are beautiful green spaces with trees and a range of activities: accrobranche, paddle, tennis, mini-golf, climbing wall, inflatable attractions, etc.
