Departing from Veysonnaz Tourisme, first follow the road towards Mayens de l'Ours. At the end of the car park, a footpath leads into the forest towards the new district of Les Hauts de Veysonnaz. At this point, the itinerary comes back on the route du Magrappé leading to the restaurant Les Caboulis.

The ascent then continues along a footpath until the next crossroads between the two snowshoe itineraries: Magrappé, which is at its highest point, or Forêt de l'Ours - Thyon, which continues its ascent by going deeper and deeper into the forest until it reaches the Piste de l'Ours.

The hike is very pleasant along a fairly flat forest track. It is not necessary to cross the piste de l'Ours to join the road that runs a few metres higher up and returns to the Mayens de Veysonnaz.
At the next crossroads, a path connecting the Forêt de l'Ours hike with the Zeu one, continues its ascent towards Thyon, while returning towards the piste de l'Ours.

The hike becomes wilder and steeper through the forest. Enjoy these moments of harmony with nature far from human activity. Further on, the crossing of the legendary piste de l'Ours reminds you that Man is not so far away, before plunging back into the forest. Human activity is more present here, but well integrated into the ecosystem. The itinerary then crosses the Thyon 2000 road twice, as well as the water pipeline. At the edge of the forest, you can enjoy the stunning view over the Dent Blanche and the Matterhorn. What a superb reward!

Good physical fitness is required in order to climb the almost 800 metres of demanding ascent on this itinerary.
